Jeremy Miner, MA, is the President of Miner and Associates and heads up the corporate office in Green Bay. He is also director of sponsored programs and strategic planning at St. Norbert College. Previously, he was a grant writer at Children's Hospital and Health System in Milwaukee. You can read a copy of his successful Robert Wood Johnson proposal in Models of Proposal Planning and Writing.He has served as a reviewer of federal grant programs. He has conducted grantseeking workshops throughout the country and internationally, ranging from Turku, Finland to Santiago, Chile. His graduate degree is in Rhetoric & Scientific & Technical Communications from the University of Minnesota. He understands the principles of persuasive writing and has a demonstrated track record of success in winning grant dollars. Jeremy says, "At the end of the day, a grant application is a specialized form of persuasive writing; I concentrate on applying the principles of persuasion to convince reviewers that they should fund my proposals."

Lynn Miner, PhD, founded Miner and Associates in 1992. He has over four decades of practical experience as an active grantseeker in academic, health care, and other nonprofit environments. He has been a professor, research administrator, and dean at small and larger public and private universities.   As a seasoned grantseeker, he has written or coached the submission of over 5,000 proposals that have won over one-half billion in new grant funds.  He has trained over 10,000 successful grantseekers in grant workshops conducted throughout the United States and abroad.  Along with colleagues Jeremy Miner and Jerry Griffith, he has coauthored several grant books and is a frequent contributor to Grantseeker Tips, a free electronic newsletter on successful grantseeking. Lynn runs the Miner and Associates corporate office in Milwaukee and notes "I'm the guy who is long-in-tooth at Miner and Associates; I've encountered nearly every grant situation you can think of and use that experience base to help others win grants."

Picture of Jerry Griffith

 

Jerry Griffith, PhD, is a Principal in Miner and Associates who specializes in the psychological and management aspects of grantseeking. Jerry has a broad-based background in rehabilitation, health care, management, academia and psychology, where he has served as a licensed psychologist. He is a frequent grant workshop presenter and consults often with nonprofit organizations and private foundations in developing strategic systems and procedures to pursue successful grantseeking. He has an established track record as a successful grantseeker -- just ask the Fire Chief in a rural Tennessee community, who is extremely happy to have some new firefighting equipment, thanks to a FEMA grant that Jerry wrote.  Jerry directs the Miner and Associates office in Knoxville, Tennessee.  His current project: helping a community foundation strengthen its infrastructure to have a greater impact on local philanthropy.  Jerry says "Most grant problems are people problems and that's my niche -- helping people solve problems through grants."
